A website in FreeCMS is a set of information related to an actual website on the web. In FreeCMS you set up certain information about a website such as information about how to connect to it using FTP and who has access to edit content.
To manage any of your websites or to add a new website, log into FreeCMS and your websites will be listed on the dashboard.
Yes, yes, and yes! We didn't want to limit you, so we've made sure you can access your Website using FTP, SFTP, FTP over SSL Explicit, and FTP over SSL Implicit.
You can specify any valid port in the FTP portion of your Website Setup.
You can specify a 'Website Home Page' in your Website Setup.
An Editor in FreeCMS is anyone responsible for editing content on a website. Editor accounts are created by a designer and the content they have permission to edit is defined by a designer. Usually an editor is a non-technical person such as a business owner or business analyst.
To manage any of your editors or to add a new editor, log into FreeCMS and click on the 'My Editors' tab.
There are 2 basic roles an Editor can have in relation to a website. They are:
As part of creating an Editor, the Designer specifies their initial password. The Designer will have access to change the Editor password, until the first time that the Editor logs into the system . The Designer will no longer have access to change the password after the Editor logs in.
The first time an Editor logs into the system, they are required to change their password. At that point they also enter a security question / answer that allows them to change their password in the future if they forget it.
